I’m reading this genuinely shocked that she’s gone. I’m stunned. She was a live-wire and someone you’ll never forget for as long as you live. I met her at Camp Netimus where she was a genuine inspiration to the kids she worked with. Anyone who wears Union T-Shirts is OK by me. A superstar and someone who hit you like lightning the second you met her. A truly beautiful girl. Her energy and passion for the kids from tougher backgrounds was astonishing. She wanted them to do so well and they knew that she loved them. She was a one off and I am blessed to have known her. Love from the other side of the pond. What a girl - one of the best ever. An absolute diamond. James from Manchester.

I remember one time in Morgantown Jess and I went on a hike, climbed up a tree that bent over a creek and she made me sing Wing Beneath My Wings verse by verse with her. She had a great voice, mine was never very good...but it was better that day than it ever was before and ever will be again. She made me a better person and even for a few minutes a better singer.

I was very sorry to read about Jess's passing. We were close at WVU. I have thought many times over the years since we lost touch how much she changed my life for the better. She was a wonderful soul.
